Mass sports

Mass sports give millions of people the possibility to perfect their physical strength and motion capabilities, improve their health and prolong their lives and thus to resist undesirable influence of such factors existing in today's world as bad ecology, stresses, overall conditions of everyday life on their organisms.
Mass sports are good for improving health, physical development, raising the level of proficiency and active rest. This is connected with a number of particular goals: improving of the work of specific systems of the organism, correcting physical development and creating strong constitution, increasing general and professional capacity for work, mastering new skills and habits, having a good time, achieving physical perfection.
The goals of mass sports are in many ways the same as the goals of physical training in general, but there is a slight difference between them. Unlike simple physical exercises all sports are characterized by the regular character of training. Besides, they going in for sports means that you have a certain goal that you want to achieve (whether it's a medal in an amateur championship or a competition or simply developing your skills and physical abilities to a certain degree). Physical exercises mean simply that you do certain actions in order to stay fit, and you are not obliged to do them regularly.
All in all, mass sports are primarily intended for improvement of health and beauty, and only then for achievements and medals.
