Sky surfing

Sky surfing is a relatively young sport. It is a type of sky diving where the jumper has a board attached to his feet and performs various aerobatics during free fall. Although it appeared not very long ago, it has been acknowledged in many countries of the world for its unusual and spectacular character. The aerodynamics of a sky surfer differs greatly from usual free fall, that's why sky surfing is considered to be a completely different discipline. To evaluate a jump of a sky surfer a camera operator is required to film the whole process so that judges can watch it when they both land. On the basis of such video records points are given to the sportsman. That's why a team should always consist of two people - the surfer and the camera man. Sometimes the skills of the camera man are even more important than the skills of the main jumper, as the operator needs to choose the right perspective and always show the person at his best. When the team lands a special jury evaluates the level of difficulty, artistic skills, as well as the work of the operator by watching the video. In cases of emergency the board can be un-attached from the jumper's feet so that he or she has more freedom to land safely. If a board is heavier than 20 g per centimeter, it has to be equipped with its own parachute. Jumps with a board is a very difficult sport, that's why only very skilled and experienced sportsmen are allowed to take part in such activities, although today it's become so popular that everybody wants to try it.
