Swimming is one of the most popular sports as it is not only a sporting activity, but one of the essential experiences for a human, as well as a unique type of physical exercises connected with health-improving and strengthening influence of the aqueous medium on a human organism. As a rule, the most positive effect such activity has on young organisms of children and teenagers. It's an important fact that if the habit of swimming is acquired once, a person will have it for the rest of his or her life. It's impossible to overestimate the significance of swimming. Water cleans human skin, facilitates skin breathing and strengthening of the skin, improves the work of various organs: the frequency of breathing increases, heart rate rises, metabolism is improved.
Besides sport itself, swimming can also be divided into gaming activities, applied swimming and synchronized swimming. Sport swimming implies competitions of various types having certain rules. Competitions can be held in standard pools (25 and 50 meters) and long pools from 50 up to 1500 meters, as well as in open water bodies as races at different distances. Proper styles of swimming having the greatest advantage of speed are usually used.
Gaming swimming usually implies various water games and entertainments. As a rule, such activities are used for young swimmers as games that prepare them physically for more advanced and difficult tasks.
Applied swimming includes rescuing drowning people, diving, as well as overcoming water obstacles.
